Four reasons why the IBEW supports the Rock Island Clean Line Project:
More than 4,000 jobs
The Rock Island Clean Line Project is projected to provide more than 4,000 construction jobs in Illinois.
This project will bring property tax revenues to state and local governments that can benefit local schools, hospitals and emergency services. In addition, it provides economic opportunities for landowners along the route through royalty payments.
Lower Electricity Rates
The Rock Island Clean Line enables the direct delivery of clean power at a competitive cost, thus resulting in lower electricity rates for residential customers and businesses.
More than 1.4 million homes in the Midwest will be powered by clean, renewable energy that significantly reduces carbon dioxide pollutants by millions of tons.
