Jack...the Jobs Killer
Illinois has seen the loss of major employers this year, especially in manufucaturing and retailing.
Now, Rep. Jack Franks wants to raise taxes and chase even MORE jobs away.
Can Illinois afford to lose MORE jobs?
Jack Franks' legislation would:
Increase the cost of healthcare for every Illinoisan by imposing a 1% tax on every health care claim as well as prescription drugs
Increase the cost of gas
Increase the cost of consumer goods by creating a new tax on rail and freight shipments
Increase property taxes on employers
Impose a tax based on companies employing people in Illinois
Hits job creators with a new tax on electricity and natural gas
Imposes a sales tax on building materials for companies looking to build new facilities in Illinois
Takes away the ability of local governments to offer some economic development packages to attract new jobs
Tax cleaner burning fuel
HOW CAN YOU HELP SAVE MANUFACTURING & RETAIL JOBS?
CALL or E-MAIL Rep. Franks and tell him to stop trying to drive jobs out of Illinois.
State Representative Jack Franks introduced legislation (HB 4300) that will increase taxes on manufacturers and retailers by $3 billion every single year. In recent months, Illinois has seen the loss of brand-name companies and thousands of good-paying jobs that support the middle class. Our state is lagging behind our neighbors in the Midwest and around the United States because politicians enact bad policies that chase job creators and our families out of the state.
Illinois is a great state with a lot of opportunity but we can’t allow politician Jack Franks and his allies in Springfield to increase costs for our families, manufacturers, retail merchants, farmers, and every small family business in our communities.
Call politician Jack Franks and tell him to say NO to higher taxes!
